煎茶家出の四方古鉄瓶です。透し摘み銅蓋は、時代をへた素晴らしい錆蓋です。持ち手には銀象嵌が少し残っています。

本作に生じたかせは、単なる経年の変化というよりは、悠久の海路を物語る風趣です。千利休が説いた「わび・さび」の美学とも響き合いながら、無作為の景色が、奥行きのある余韻を残しています。
